Jeff and the team have an annual tradition of planting dogwood trees in memory of loved ones. Shortly after Jeff’s dad died, a good friend delivered a tree to be planted in his dad’s memory. It was a beautiful flowering white dogwood tree planted in the front yard next to the driveway. Every day, as Jeff left in the morning and returned in the evening, he was able to look at that tree and think of his dad. Different thoughts ran through his mind on different days, but all of them were happy and all brought a smile to his face. Because of that we pass this tradition on to our clients.

Our team is committed to “Keeping VA Cozy”. To date we’ve helped to clean up over 340 pounds of litter along the James River. This is a rewarding experience in every way, one that we would recommend local Richmonders experience themselves. For the past 3 years we have participated in the Dog Jog & 5k Run with the support of our friends 2 legged and 4! To learn more about The Richmond SPCA and their life saving mission please visit their website. 

Miller Financial Services is actively involved with the Cameron K. Gallagher (CKG) Foundation that seeks to cultivate awareness and understanding of teenage depression and anxiety. Among other things, the foundation promotes free mental health programs and sponsors a national race series (SpeakUp5k) to help raise awareness.

Play for FA was founded in 2001 by a group of amazing friends of Lorraine and Kevin McQueen (the Friends of Sean Committee) to organize a series of events to raise money to help in the fight against Fanconi Anemia (FA). In 2012, Cynthia and Gerard Vandermeys joined the Play for FA team to help find a cure for their two, children Alex and Jacqueline. Since it’s inception, Play for FA has have raised over $1,500,000 to combat this dreadful disease.

Miller Financial Services partnered up with VCU Alumni for the 4th annual “Unwrapping Holiday Wishes” program.

During this fun event, we helped 50 deserving students shop for shoes, clothes, toys and various essentials for the winter and spring seasons. Students also shopped for holiday gifts that will be donated to over 100 children that are currently receiving treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.

Every child deserves the opportunity to celebrate the holiday and as a community we are excited to help make that possible for many local children and families.

Miller Financial Services is a supporter of the arts. In the past we’ve sponsored the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ Fine Arts & Flowers exhibition and sponsored ARTrageous; the VMFA’s signature biennial party celebrating the cultural vibrancy that the museum brings to the Commonwealth.
